Private dog training with me is about more than teaching commands, it’s about helping your dog feel safe, understood and capable in the real world. After living through the challenges of owning a reactive dog myself, I know that obedience alone doesn’t solve stress, fear or overwhelm. A dog can sit on command and still be struggling inside.
My approach focuses on understanding why your dog behaves the way they do, then creating practical changes that build confidence, emotional balance and trust. Instead of relying on constant commands, I help dogs learn how to move through life with more calm, better choices and less need for control.

Golden Dog Training provides professional guidance, techniques, and support to help you and your dog achieve the best possible training outcomes. However, successful results depend heavily on the owner’s ongoing commitment, consistency, and willingness to follow the training plan as instructed.
While we strive to deliver effective, evidence-based training, we cannot guarantee specific results, as every dog learns at its own pace and responds differently to training. Progress is directly influenced by your participation, practice between sessions, and adherence to the strategies provided.

We spend approx. 45mins gathering information, 15mins discussing theory and 30mins working with your dog. A program of 6, 8 or 10 sessions will be recommended and the practical training process begins. Practical tasks will be given as homework to complete between sessions.
Yes, rarely will behaviour change in a single session. Repetition and exposure is essential while slowing introducing all necessary steps in a simple and manageable program. If you are a returning client, I may suggest a one-off refresher session.
Prices are based on per session rate set at $150. Additional dogs may incur an extra fee.
When you sign up to a program, I tailor the sessions based on the assessment at the initial consult and adjust as the training progresses. It is important that you can live well with your dog without the need for constant obedience commands. My training focusses on creating an understanding between you and your dog of what is appropriate everyday behaviour.
I service Greater Shepparton including Shepparton East, Mooroopna, Kialla and Kialla East.
My services also extend to Strathbogie Shire including Euroa, Violet Town and Nagambie.
